How to Remove and Clean the Dyson V8 Dustbin (Step-by-Step)
If the dustbin on your Dyson V8 is dirty and due for a clean, you can take the whole bin off in under a minute, with no tools. Here is how to release it, and the one thing to check before you put it back.
Open the bottom lid
Push the red latch on the side all the way up until the bottom lid pops open.
Release the dustbin
On the bottom there is one red clip. Press it down. Then use your hand on the top of the bin and give it a little wiggle, and the dustbin comes right off.
Wash it, then check the connectors
Now you can wash the dustbin. Before you put it back on, make sure there is no water in the connectors.
Why bother taking the whole bin off?
Emptying the bin gets the loose dust out, but fine dust and grime stay stuck to the walls and around the lid. Taking the bin off lets you wash all of it properly, and a bin that only takes a minute to remove is a bin you will actually clean. The one thing to respect is the connectors: keep water out of them and let everything dry before you refit the bin.
